Now that you have made the decision to explore the idea of plastic surgery more seriously, the next step is meeting with a plastic surgeon to learn more about the procedure, recovery, office policies and procedures, cost, and preparation for the surgery itself.

STEP 1 – WHAT PROCEDURE ARE YOU INTERESTED IN?

Before scheduling a consultation with a surgeon, it’s crucial to identify the procedure you’re interested in. Are you considering a tummy tuck to achieve your desired results, or are you more interested in breast augmentation? Possibly a body lift? Clarifying your overall goals to guide your decision.

STEP 2 – DO YOUR RESEARCH

It is extremely important to research your desired surgery to gain a clearer understanding of the procedure and to ensure that you are eligible for that specific surgery.

You will also want to acquaint yourself with the recovery time and risks associated with these procedures. Understanding the basics will help you to ask informed questions at your consultation. We recommend visiting, not only Denver Plastic Surgery’s website, but also the American Society of Plastic Surgery website to see a full list of cosmetic procedures that are available. Doing this will also help you to better understand the explanations given to you by the surgeon.

STEP 3 – VISIT OUR WEBSITE

We invite you to visit Denver Plastic Surgery to explore the range of procedures performed by Dr. Rodgers. The before-and-after photos on the site can also provide valuable insight into the potential results you can expect.

STEP 4 – SCHEDULE YOUR CONSULTATION

Our patient care coordinators are here to answer many of the preliminary questions you may have as they relate to Dr. Rodgers’ expertise, our office, the procedures we offer, your surgical journey, and the potential cost involved. You can request a consultation by visiting our website or calling our office directly. When you request a consultation online, our patient care coordinator will contact you directly to discuss your goals and schedule an appointment with Dr. Rodgers. The initial call may take 15-20 minutes as we want you to feel as prepared as possible prior to your in-person consultation. Dr. Rodgers performs consultations on Tuesdays. You can expect to be at our office for about 75 minutes.

STEP 5 – COMPLETE NEW PATIENT PAPERWORK & HEALTH HISTORY FORMS

Denver Plastic Surgery requests that you complete your New Patient Paperwork and Health History forms before your consultation appointment. This allows Dr. Rodgers to review your information and familiarize herself with your case, ensuring a more productive and informative visit. The forms are detailed to provide a comprehensive overview of your health, so please allocate at least 20 minutes to fill them out thoroughly.

STEP 6 – THE CONSULTATION

This is your time with Dr. Rodgers! During your consultation appointment, Dr. Rodgers will perform an exam, discuss your surgical goals and concerns, as well as your overall health. This is your chance to ask questions regarding the procedure, the recovery and what to expect. We recommend bringing a list of questions to your consultation to ensure you receive all the information that’s important to you. You will also meet with one of our patient care coordinators to discuss the specifics of your procedure regarding timelines, costs and what else is needed from you to move forward. Dr. Rodgers believes that the consultation appointment is the first step in your surgical journey, and it is an imperative part of building trust and confidence in her as a surgeon and her abilities.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KNOW

Who to bring/not bring:

We welcome your spouse/partner, family member, or friend as they may help you in the decision-making process or have questions of their own. Do not bring children, pets, or anyone who may distract you from your time with Dr. Rodgers. A rushed consultation will result in you leaving our office without a comprehensive understanding of your procedure and the surgical process.

Timing:

When planning for an upcoming surgery, you should consult with the doctor as soon as you are at a stable weight (if you are on a weight loss journey). Substantial weight loss after a consultation can affect your surgical plan. Your surgical quote is good for six months, but booking surgery can be a few months out as well, so sooner is generally better when planning your consultation.

Congratulations on deciding to move forward with your plastic surgery procedure! We understand you may have many questions and concerns, and we’re here to support you throughout the process. By preparing for your surgical consultation and working closely with Dr. Rodgers and our team, you’ll be well-equipped to make informed decisions about your procedure. We look forward to meeting with you!
