What if I am traveling from out of town for my surgical procedure?
Dr. Rodgers frequently works with patients traveling to Denver from out of town. What pain management options are available for in-office procedures?
- NUMBING CREAM: Numbing cream is directly applied to the area that is going to be treated and desensitizes the skin to alleviate pain during treatment. Numbing cream is used often for skin care and injectable treatments and is applied approximately 30 minutes to an hour prior to treatment.
- NITRONOX: Nitronox, also known as laughing gas, is a safe and effective way to help calm your nerves and keep you comfortable during your procedure and without sedation. Nitronox is inhaled through a hand-held tube during your procedure and takes effect very quickly. It is self-administered as you need it and it leaves the body quickly, allowing you to transport yourself after the treatment.
- TUMESCENT: Tumescent is a local anesthesia in which a solution of lidocaine, epinephrine, and saline. It is injected into the tissue at the treatment site. With the use of Tumescent, you will experience little to no discomfort during your procedure.
- ZIMMER COOLER: The Zimmer is a hand-held cooling device that uses cold air, applied to the treatment site, to reduce pain and protect the skin during laser treatments.
