Chin Augmentation with Silicone Implant Procedure Instructions
Always wear the facial compression garment for the first two weeks following the procedure. Wear the garment for 12 hours daily for 3 weeks following the procedure.
DO NOT remove the bandages. After surgery, you will be seen by a provider in the office who will remove the bandages and provide post operative instructions.
DO NOT get the incision wet for 48 hours post-surgery.
You may shower after your first post-operative appointment as directed by your provider. DO NOT scrub the incision area. You may let water run gently over the incision area and pat dry.
Wash hands and wear gloves when touching the incision area. Never touch your incisions with your bare hands.
DO NOT engage in any activities that will stress the wound. If you feel a stretch on the incision sutures, do not continue the activity.
Continue your medications as needed and instructed by your doctor. It is important to finish the full course of antibiotics prescribed to you to help minimize your chance of infection.
DO NOT apply heating pads to the incisions. Ice packs may be applied as directed by your provider.
NO SMOKING for 8 weeks. Avoid being in a room with smokers. Smoking hinders the healing process.
NO NSAIDS, vitamins or herbal supplements for 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks after surgery.
Contact the office immediately if you notice any sudden increase in redness, swelling, excessive bleeding/drainage or pain at the surgical site.
