Consult your primary care physician If you have been diagnosed with Pernicious Anemia.
In order to minimize the potential of bleeding/bruising, avoid aspirin & aspirin-containing medications for 5 days prior to injection.
Drink at least 16 oz of water before treatment.
Eat a meal before your treatment in order to keep your blood sugar stable during your treatment.
Notify your provider if you have a needle phobia so they can take proper precautions.
Notify your provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Post-Treatment Instructions:
Optimal results are achieved when treatments are continued routinely.
B12 injections can cause nausea, dizziness, and headaches when injected into the muscle. Contact your provider if the symptoms do not resolve within 24 hours.
Drink at least 24 oz of water after treatment.
Itching and/or a feeling of swelling throughout the body may occur. Consult your provider promptly if the effects persist.
Typically patients experience positive effects from the injection between 24-72 hours after treatment.
Avoid alcohol for 48 hours after treatment.
Avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours after your treatment.
Avoid touching the injection site for 6 hours after your treatment. You may experience a dull ache at the injections site for around 1 hour after your treatment.
