Pre-Treatment Instructions:

  • Eat clean and increase hydration for 3-5 days prior to treatment.
  • Do not smoke or consume alcohol for at least 3-5 days prior to procedure. Both can impede the effectiveness of the treatment.
  • Plan 1-2 weeks of no major events in case you bruise or swell.
  • Discontinue use of steroid medications at least two weeks prior to procedure.
  • Taking blood thinners such as Aspirin, Advil, Aleve, Motrin, Fish Oil, Vitamins A, B, C or E or consuming alcoholic beverages may increase the risk of bruising. Consult your physician prior to stopping any prescribed medication.
  • Drink at least 16 oz of water before treatment.
  • Eat a meal before your treatment in order to keep your blood sugar stable during your treatment.
  • If you have a history of cold sores, we recommend a course of antiviral medication pre and post treatment in order to prevent an outbreak of cold sores if you are prone to them.
  • Notify your provider if you have a needle phobia so they can take proper precautions.
  • Notify your provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Be prepared for a slight wait time after the blood draw while the sample is prepared for injection. Immediately following the procedure, you will be asked to remain still and rest for a short period. If you feel weak or light-headed, advise your provider immediately.
