Avoid products containing any exfoliating agents (retinoic acid, tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, astringents, etc.) for 24-48 hours before treatment.
You may use topical anesthetic in the office prior to your scheduled appointment (please arrive 30 minutes prior to procedure).
If you have a history of cold sores, we recommend a course of antiviral medication pre and post treatment in order to prevent an outbreak of cold sores if you are prone to them.
Post-Treatment Instructions:
Do not apply anything to the skin for 48 hours after treatment. This includes make-up, SPF or products of any kind.
Redness and/or swelling are common and should resolve within 24-48 hours.
Bruising, pinpoint bleeding and/or minor breakouts are common and should resolve within 10 days post treatment.
To avoid scarring, scabbing and/or bleeding, avoid picking at treated areas.
Avoid heat, saunas, hot tubs and strenuous activity until skin is healed.
Do not use an electric or manual facial brush of any kind for 7 days after your treatment.
To enhance results and minimize potential side effects, ask your provider about skincare products recommended post- treatment.
You may resume your regular skin care routine one week following treatment, or as directed by your skincare provider.
