Prior to Procedure

  • Morning: Cleanse, apply Hydroquinone, moisturizer and SPF.
  • Evening: Cleanse, apply Hydroquinone, Retin-A/Tretinoin (M, W, F ONLY) and moisturizer.
  • 7 Days Prior to Procedure: Discontinue use of Retin-A/Tretinoin or similar products.
  • 1 Day Prior to Procedure: Discontinue use of Hydroquinone.
  • Continue prescription medications as directed by your provider.

Post Procedure

  • Use the gloves provided and thoroughly wash hands prior to touching your face.
  • Only cleanse with room temperature water, gently splashing the face. Do not rub the skin in any way.
  • Do not exfoliate the peeling skin. Allow the skin to shed naturally to avoid scarring.
  • Thoroughly wash hands after contact with children or animals.
  • Benadryl can be taken in the evening if the treatment area is itchy or irritated. Do not scratch the area.
  • The treatment area should be continuously coated with Alastin Soothe + Protect Balm for discomfort and/or swelling. If the skin feels dry in any way, reapply the balm.
  • Ice packs, covered with gauze, can be applied on top of Alastin Soothe + Protect Balm for discomfort and/or swelling. If the balm is removed while using an ice pack, apply more balm immediately after use.
  • Avoid direct sun until advised by the provider that SPF can be used on the treatment area.

  • Continue prescription medications as directed by your provider.

Mornings

  • Wash face with baby shampoo and lukewarm water.
  • Apply Alastin Regenerating Skin Nectar with gloves.
  • Apply Alastin Soothe & Protect Recovery Balm.

Evenings

  • Wash face with baby shampoo and lukewarm water.
  • Apply Alastin Regenerating Skin Nectar with gloves.
  • Apply Alastin Soothe & Protect Recovery Balm.

Reminders:

  • Always wash hands and wear gloves when washing your face or reapplying products.
  • Sunscreen cannot be worn until Day 8. Sun exposure must be avoided.

  • Apply CereVe moisturizer.
  • Apply Alastin Soothe & Protect Recovery Balm as directed by the provider.
  • Apply supplied sunscreen.

Evenings

  • Wash face with Cetaphil and lukewarm water.
  • Apply Alastin Regenerating Skin Nectar with gloves.
  • Apply Alastin Soothe & Protect Recovery Balm as directed by the provider.
  • Apply CereVe moisturizer.

Reminders:

  • Your provider will discuss with you the appropriate skincare products necessary to maintain your results.
  • Your skin is photosensitive for up to 6 months post your laser surfacing procedure. Be sure to reapply sunscreen if you are in direct sunlight for more than 1.5 hours.
