Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
A PRP treatment is a natural cosmetic treatment in which a small amount of your own blood is drawn and then spun down to remove the platelet rich plasma from your red blood cells. The plasma is then mixed with a growth factor and applied topically or injected into the skin by your SkinCare Professional. PRP is a component of blood that contains growth factors and other proteins that promote healing on a cellular level, thus boosting the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. This procedure will aid in the tightening of the skin and smoothing and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. This add-on service is recommended for enhanced results and shortened healing time with ablative laser treatments, Morpheus8 and SkinPen Microneedling.
PRP AND OMNI CORE RECOVERY COMPLEX AT A GLANCE
Procedure
When you arrive at the office, a small vial of blood is drawn. The blood is then spun in order to separate the growth factors, platelets and stem cells from the rest of the blood. Once completed, this unique formulation will be applied to the targeted areas.
Benefits
Our PRP facial, combined with laser skin rejuvenation and microneedling procedures, allows the skin to heal faster post treatment while promoting:
- Increased collagen growth
- Minimized fine lines and wrinkleses
- Improvement in acne scarring and stretch marks
- Improved skin texture
Recovery Time
The total healing time depends on the depth of the treatment, skin type, and skin condition. A noticeable improvement in skin texture will be seen during the first month. Maximum collagen regeneration occurs around 3 months after initial treatment.
Potential Risks
The possibility of side effects is extremely minimal as the PRP procedure utilizes the body’s own blood supply.
Tips
In order to achieve optimal results, it is recommended that most patients receive 3 PRP treatments spaced at 6 to 8 week intervals.
